Honda tops reliability poll

Fleet managers and business owners know that the success of their operation can often come down to the reliability of their vehicles.

All the time that a van or car is not on the road it is losing a firm money, not to mention adding to overheads with repair costs.

So acquiring the right vehicle is a crucial move for many organisations.

New research from What Car? and Warranty Direct has revealed that Honda is again the most reliable used car brand in the UK.

It is the seventh consecutive year that the Japanese manufacturer has been awarded the honour.

Honda cars where shown to have just a one in ten chance of breaking down in any given 12-month period.    

What Car?’s editor in chief, Chas Hallett, commented: "Reliability is so important to motorists, especially when times are tough. Japanese car makers really do deliver on reliability and Honda is exceptionally good at this.

"What will be surprising to many is the fact that several of the more desirable brands did not fare so well regarding reliability and the cost of their repairs are high."

Fleet managers could look to improve their firm's profitability by using Honda vehicles, but that does not necessarily mean that a host of new models need to be purchased.
