Fiat 500 wins another award
24 January 2012
The Fiat 500 has picked up another top industry award.
For the fourth consecutive year, the 2012 BusinessCar Awards has given the model the title of Best City Car.
Those who would like to incorporate the Fiat in their fleets, but are worried about the high expenditure which is associated with changing vehicles, may want to hire the 500. Car leasing will also allow businesses to gain tighter control over their cash flow, as they will be aware of how much they are spending every month and are less likely to be hit by unexpected motoring costs, such as large maintenance bills or repairs.
The latest award is particularly significant for fleet managers, as it was voted for by businesses who had found the Fiat 500 to be just what they require in a vehicle for transporting staff around heavily populated areas.
As the prize was given to the whole range rather than just one specific model, it shows the depth of options available to those who want to hire a vehicle.
The car comes with a choice of new Euro V compatible engines ranging from a 100bhp 1.4-lite petrol model to a 95bhp 1.3 MultiJet turbodiesel, meaning customers can opt for performance or fuel economy.
"Fiat's 500 has again proved to be a business car market favourite and Fiat's advancement with its TwinAir technology has enhanced the excellent city car's appeal to the sector," said Paul Barker, editor of the magazine.
Elan Bernardelli, the Italian manufacturer's marketing director, stated that to win for the fourth year in a row was testament to the model's appeal.
"The 500 is a car that thousands of people want to have as their own, but it's good to see how popular it is as a serious business tool too," she added.
This comes after the 500C convertible TwinAir version won the prize for Green Vehicles, Coupes and Cabriolets at the 2011 International Green Apple Awards.
