Car leasing news: Toyota hints at larger version of the Prius
18 October 2010
Car leasing customers looking to upgrade their current vehicle may find that the new model in the Toyota Prius range ticks all the boxes.
The Japanese automaker has hinted that the next incarnation of its hybrid model will be larger than the current five-door hatchback that is on the market.
But motorists will have to wait to find out exactly what Toyota has planned for the expansion of the Prius family - the company announced that the new model will make its debut in January next year at the Detroit Motor Show.
A post on the carmaker's Twitter feed stated that the new vehicle will be an "all-new model with more comfort, style and versatility".
The Prius models that are currently on the market boast fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions, which can be as little as 89g/km.
When used in electric vehicle mode - which will allow the car to reach speeds of up to 31 mph for a distance of 1.2 miles - the car produces no carbon dioxide emissions.
